The Story of Rebisco
How Rebisco Started
Rebisco was founded by a person named Jacinto Ng. He started the company on August 15, 1963. Back then, it was called England Biscuit Factory.
The first factory was a small, rented bakery in San Juan. It started with about US$5,000, which was a small amount of money at the time. The first products were Krema (cream-filled crackers) and Sodatine (plain crackers). Later, the company moved to a bigger factory in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Growing and Changing
In 1972, England Biscuit Factory changed its name to Republic Biscuit Corporation, or Rebisco. It also got a new look.
In 1983, Krema crackers were relaunched as Rebisco Cream Sandwich. This became one of the company's most important products.
Over the years, Rebisco started other companies to make different kinds of snacks. These included JBC Food Corporation (1989), Suncrest Foods, Inc. (1995), and Multirich Foods Corporation (1999). In 2003, Rebisco bought Storck Products, Inc., and renamed it SPI Corporation.
New Products and Global Reach

In 2012, Rebisco began selling its products around the world. It launched Rebisco Vietnam Ltd. in Vietnam. In 2015, Rebisco opened its first international factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This was the first Rebisco factory outside the Philippines.
In 2015, Rebisco also started making flour and oil with Agripacific Corporation. That same year, Rebisco began making ice cream by buying Creamline Dairy Corporation, which was renamed SFI Multimix Corporation.
In 2018, to celebrate its 55th birthday, Rebisco opened its first "Snacks To-Go" store. In 2022, the company started selling drinks by becoming the official importer of a Thai drink company called Ichitan.
In 2023, Jacinto Ng, the founder of Rebisco, was listed as one of the richest people in the Philippines.
