The main railway line runs right through Sadliers Crossing. It connects the suburb from the south-east (near Ipswich CBD) to the west (towards Wulkuraka). You can catch a train at the Thomas Street railway station located right here.
A Look Back in Time
The name "Sadliers Crossing" comes from an early land owner named Thomas Sadlier.
Early Buildings and Schools
- In 1901, the Blair Methodist Church opened its doors on Burnett Street. It later became the Blair Uniting Church around 1977. It closed around 1980, but the building is still there today.
- Blair State School started on March 26, 1917. It's named after Sir James Blair, who helped a lot to get the school built.
- Mater Dei Catholic Church opened in 1964. It was set up in a house that was changed into a church.
