Sajid–Wajid was a famous music duo from India. They created music for many Bollywood movies. The duo was made up of two brothers, Sajid Khan and Wajid Khan. Their father, Sharafat Ali Khan, was a tabla player.
Sadly, Wajid Khan, the younger brother, passed away on June 1, 2020. Since then, Sajid Khan has continued to make music on his own.

Sajid Ali Khan, born on July 10, 1977, is also known as Sajid. He is the older son of Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, a tabla player, and his wife, Razina Khan. Sajid is married to Lubna Khan. They have two daughters named Muskaan and Mehek.
Sajid studied at the Academy of Asiatic Cinema and Television. He learned music from many teachers, including his father. His grandfathers were also important Indian artists.
Before becoming a music director, Sajid worked in import and export. His family and friends encouraged him to focus on music. He started making music by himself. Later, he encouraged his younger brother, Wajid, to join him. They then worked together as Sajid–Wajid. After Wajid passed away in 2020, Sajid continued his music career as a solo artist.

Wajid Ali Khan was the younger son of artist Sharafat Ali Khan and Razina Khan. He joined his older brother Sajid Khan to form the music duo Sajid–Wajid. Wajid also had his own singing career. He was nominated for several awards as a playback singer.
Wajid studied at Mithibai College. There, he met Kamalrukh. They dated for about 10 years. Wajid was very busy with music tours and training during this time. They eventually got married. Wajid and Kamalrukh had two children, a daughter named Arshi and a son named Hrehaan.
Wajid's health slowly got worse. He had a kidney transplant in 2019, which was successful. However, he later got throat infections. On May 31, 2020, he was taken to the hospital with serious health problems. He passed away the next day, on June 1, 2020, due to a heart attack.
Their Musical Journey: Career Highlights
Sajid–Wajid first created music for Salman Khan's film Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998. In 1999, they composed music for Sonu Nigam's album Deewaana. They went on to compose music for many other films.
The music duo also worked on many films starring Salman Khan. They were mentors on TV reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012. They also composed the theme songs for Bigg Boss 4 and Bigg Boss 6. Sajid–Wajid also made the IPL 4 theme song "Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka." Wajid sang the main part of this song.

Sajid Continues the Legacy
After Wajid Khan passed away on June 1, 2020, his older brother Sajid Ali Khan continued making music on his own. Sajid Khan still uses the name Sajid–Wajid for his work. He even took part in the IPML as the captain of the Delhi Jammers team, representing Sajid–Wajid.
