She-Ra: Princess of Power is an American animated series. It was made in 1985 by a company called Filmation. This show was a spin-off from another popular series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
She-Ra was created mainly for young girls. It was meant to be a companion to He-Man, which was popular with boys. Unlike He-Man, which came from a toy line, She-Ra was a team effort. Filmation and Mattel worked together to create the show.
Writers Larry DiTillio and J. Michael Straczynski helped create the first characters. Mattel designed new characters later on. Mattel also helped pay for the show and made a toy line to go with it. The series started in 1985 and ended in 1986. It had 2 seasons and 93 episodes.
On March 22, 1985, Filmation released a movie called He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword. This movie was actually the first five episodes of the She-Ra TV show put together. These episodes were "Into Etheria", "Beast Island", "She-Ra Unchained", "Reunions", and "Battle For Bright Moon".
A new version of the series, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, came out on Netflix. It started on November 13, 2018, and finished on May 15, 2020.

What is the Story About?
The show follows Princess Adora's exciting adventures. She is the twin sister of Prince Adam, also known as He-Man. Adora leads a group of heroes called the Great Rebellion. They fight to free their home, Etheria, from the evil ruler Hordak. Hordak leads a group called the Evil Horde.
With her special Sword of Protection, Adora can change into She-Ra. This is just like how Prince Adam changes into He-Man.
Princess Adora was born on the planet Eternia. Her parents are Queen Marlena and King Randor. But when she was a baby, Hordak took her away to Etheria. There, she grew up serving Hordak as a Force Captain. She was under his mind control. Later, He-Man rescued her. After seeing her parents on Eternia, She-Ra decided to go back to Etheria. She chose to lead the Great Rebellion and fight for freedom.
