Sheering is a small village and a civil parish in Essex, England. A civil parish is like a local area with its own council. Sheering is part of the Epping Forest area.
The village is about 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) northeast of Harlow. It is also about 7.2 kilometers (4.5 miles) south of Bishop's Stortford. London is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) to the northeast.
Sheering is located near the Stort Navigation. This is a waterway with a special gate called a lock at Sheering Mill. A lock helps boats move between different water levels.
