Simeon Alexander Jackson (born March 28, 1987) is a Canadian semi-professional soccer player. He plays as a forward for A.F.C. Sudbury.
Simeon has spent most of his career playing in England. He moved from Mississauga, Ontario, to South London as a teenager. He wanted to play football there. After being turned down by Gillingham at first, he played semi-professionally. He became well-known with Rushden & Diamonds. His many goals led him to join Gillingham in 2008. He scored the winning goal for Gillingham in the 2009 League Two Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium.
In 2010, Jackson moved to Norwich City. He scored the goal that helped Norwich get promoted to the Premier League the next year. He later played for German club Eintracht Braunschweig. He then returned to England, playing for several clubs. In September 2018, he signed with Scottish club St Mirren. He later joined another Scottish club, Kilmarnock, in October 2019. Born in Jamaica, Jackson has also played for the Canada national team since 2009.

Simeon Jackson's Club Journey
Starting Out in Football
Jackson began his football journey with his local team in Canada, Sunoco FC. He was invited to try out for Gillingham, but they did not sign him at that time. When he was 15, he moved to England. He lived with his grandmother in Croydon, South London. While playing for Dulwich Hamlet, Jackson worked at McDonald's to support himself.
Playing for Rushden & Diamonds
Jackson joined Rushden & Diamonds in 2004. He was the club's top scorer in the 2006–07 season, scoring 20 goals. The next season, he scored 16 league goals for the Diamonds. This was even though he left for Gillingham in January. In 2005, he had trials with big clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City. He also went on a short loan to Raunds Town in December 2005. When he left the Diamonds, he had scored 43 goals in just over 100 games.
Joining Gillingham F.C.
In January 2008, Jackson signed with Gillingham. This was the same club that had turned him down as a young player. He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract for £150,000. He played his first game for them on February 2, 2008, against Cheltenham Town.
On January 4, 2009, Jackson scored a goal for Gillingham in their FA Cup match against Aston Villa. He scored both goals when Gillingham beat Rochdale in the 2008–09 play-off semi-final. He then scored the winning goal in the 90th minute against Shrewsbury Town in the final. This win helped Gillingham return to League One.
Time at Norwich City

Jackson joined Norwich City in July 2010. He signed a two-year contract. He played his first game for Norwich on August 6, 2010. He scored his first goal for the club against Swansea City on August 21. Manager Paul Lambert often used Jackson as a substitute. This was because other players like Grant Holt were playing very well.
On April 2, 2011, Jackson scored his first hat-trick for Norwich. He came on as a substitute and scored three goals in the last twenty minutes. This was against Scunthorpe United. He then scored the goal that helped Norwich get promoted to the Premier League. This was a late winning goal against Portsmouth.
Jackson played his first Premier League game on August 21, 2011. He came on as a substitute against Stoke City. He made his first start in the Premier League on November 26, 2011. This was in a 2–1 win over Queens Park Rangers. Jackson scored his first Premier League goal on December 20 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He scored the tying goal against Fulham on December 31. In the FA Cup, he scored the winning goal against West Bromwich Albion. Jackson finished the 2011–12 season with 22 appearances and three goals. Norwich extended his contract for another year in June 2012. He scored his first goal of the new season on August 25, 2012. At the end of the season, Norwich released Jackson.
Playing in Germany and Back to England
On July 10, 2013, Jackson signed a two-year contract with German club Eintracht Braunschweig. He played nine games there. On January 31, 2014, he left the club by agreement.
The next day, February 1, 2014, Jackson joined Millwall in England. He played his first game for them on March 1, 2014. He scored his first goal for Millwall on March 25.
On August 18, 2014, Jackson signed a one-year contract with Coventry City. He scored his first goal for Coventry on September 13. This was the winning goal in a 2–1 victory.
After leaving Coventry, Jackson joined Barnsley on September 3, 2015. He then signed with Blackburn Rovers on January 15, 2016. He scored his first goal for Blackburn on March 12, 2016.
Jackson signed for Walsall on July 18, 2016. He scored two goals on his debut for Walsall on August 6, 2016. In January 2018, he joined Grimsby Town on loan. Walsall released him at the end of the 2017–18 season.
Later Career: Scotland and Beyond
Jackson went on trial with Scottish club St Mirren in September 2018. He signed a short-term deal and helped the club avoid being relegated. He left St Mirren in June 2019.
In October 2019, Jackson signed a short-term contract with another Scottish club, Kilmarnock. He left Kilmarnock in December 2019.
On January 20, 2020, Jackson signed a six-month deal for Stevenage. He played five games before being released at the end of the season.
On February 5, 2021, Jackson signed for National League South club Chelmsford City. He also went on loan to King's Lynn Town in March 2021. In July 2021, Chelmsford confirmed Jackson would return to the club. He also took on coaching and community roles. On July 10, 2023, Chelmsford announced Jackson's retirement from playing.
However, on March 27, 2024, Jackson came out of retirement. He signed for AFC Sudbury.
Simeon Jackson's International Career

Simeon Jackson became a Canadian citizen because he lived there as a child. He has played 49 games for the Canada national team, scoring six goals. He also played seven games for the Canadian men's youth (under-20) team. His first game for the youth team was against Brazil in May 2006. He played in all three of Canada's games at the 2007 U-20 World Cup. On November 14, 2008, he was called up to the senior Canadian team for the first time. This was for a match against Jamaica, his birth country.
On May 30, 2009, Jackson made his debut for Canada against Cyprus. He scored the winning goal in a 1–0 victory. Jackson helped Canada reach the quarter-finals of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He played in all four of Canada's games in that tournament. On December 18, 2009, Jackson was named the Canadian Player of the Year.
On October 8, 2010, Jackson scored his second international goal against Ukraine. On October 7, 2011, Jackson scored three goals (a hat-trick) against Saint Lucia. Canada won that game 7–0. Jackson became only the second Canadian to score a hat-trick in World Cup qualifying.

Jackson was born in Kingston, Jamaica. When he was three years old, he moved with his parents to Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Helping Others Through Football
On June 1, 2011, it was announced that Jackson had signed a deal with Umbro, a sportswear company. In 2012, Jackson shared his dream to open his first "soccer" school in Southern Ontario. He wanted to help kids in Canada improve their skills. He hoped to give them a chance to play in Europe and at the highest level through his school.
