Sundridge Park, often called just Sundridge, is a cool area in Greater London. It's part of the London Borough of Bromley. Before 1965, it was in the historic county of Kent.

You can find Sundridge Park north of Bromley. It's also near places like Widmore, Bickley, Grove Park, and Downham. For a while, Sundridge and nearby Plaistow shared names a lot. For example, the main shops in Sundridge are right next to Plaistow Green. Businesses used both names. But now, people are trying to make sure each area has its own clear identity. Sundridge even has its own village sign!

A Look Back: Sundridge Park's History

Sundridge Park was first mentioned way back in 987. Back then, it was called 'Sundresse'. In the Middle Ages, the Le Blund family owned the land here.

In the early 1700s, a big house was built where Sundridge Park Manor now stands. Later, in 1795, Sir Claude Scott bought that house and had it taken down. He then built the amazing building we see today. It was surrounded by beautiful parkland.

Sundridge Park Mansion: A Grand Building

Sundridge Park Manor is a very important building. It's so special that it's a Grade I listed mansion. This means it's considered to be of exceptional interest. The famous architect John Nash designed it, and Samuel Wyatt built it.

For many years, the mansion was used as a place for business meetings and training. But now, it's being turned into fancy apartments. A lot of the land that used to belong to the mansion is now the Sundridge Park Golf Club.
