Tehran Von Ghasri, known simply as Tehran, is a popular American comedian, writer, and actor. He is also a familiar face on television and radio. Tehran was born in Washington D.C. and has both African-American and Persian family roots.

Tehran Von Ghasri was born in Washington D.C. His father was an immigrant from Iran, and his mother was African-American. They met while they were in college. Tehran was named after Tehran, the capital city of Iran. His parents chose this name to help him remember his Persian heritage.
Tehran's family background is very diverse. His paternal grandparents were Muslim and Zoroastrian. His maternal grandfather was Christian, and his maternal grandmother was Jewish.
