Tehran Von Ghasri, known simply as Tehran, is an American comedian, writer, and actor. He is also a popular personality on TV, radio, and podcasts. Tehran was born and grew up in Washington D.C.. His family background is both African-American and Persian.
Tehran started his career by hosting TV shows and organizing special events. He is multilingual, which means he speaks several languages. He performs stand-up comedy mainly in English for audiences in the US. But he also performs in Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, and French for international audiences.

Early Life and Education
Tehran Von Ghasri was born in Washington D.C. His father was an immigrant from Iran, and his mother was African-American. They met while they were in college.
His parents named him "Tehran" after the capital city of Iran. They chose this name to remind him of his Persian roots. They also liked that the name sounded African-American. Tehran studied at George Mason University. He earned degrees in International Politics, Communications, and Economics. He also has a law degree (J.D.) from Georgetown Law.
Comedy Career
Tehran was inspired to become a comedian by his friend Max Amini. He also got encouragement from Maz Jobrani after seeing him perform in 2012. Maz Jobrani told him to move to Los Angeles to pursue comedy full-time.
Early TV and Radio Work
Tehran hosted his own radio and TV shows on Persian language channels like Rangarang and Tapesh. He became very popular in the Iranian community around the world. This happened after he appeared on the show Parazit on VOA Persian.
After gaining fame in the Iranian community, Tehran started working in American and international markets. He became a main host on Take Part Live, a daily talk show about social and political topics on Pivot. This led to a big role on the Fox TV show "So Me".
Film and Television Roles
Tehran has been in several TV shows and movies. These include Dane Cook's American Typecast and Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece, directed by Sean Stone. He also appeared in Maz Jobrani's movie Jimmy Vestvood.
He has hosted many "aftershows" for popular series. These include Fox's Empire and Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He was also a regular guest on AfterBuzz TV podcasts from 2015 to 2020. Tehran has hosted events like San Diego Comic-Con and Los Angeles Comic Con.
