Sunny Side Up was a fun TV show for kids. It aired on the Sprout channel. The show started on September 26, 2007, and ended on August 11, 2017. Each week, the show had a new and exciting theme. These themes included food, Halloween, animals, construction, fall, opposites, and birthdays.
Sunny Side Up was Sprout's main morning program. It was broadcast live every weekday. The show featured a human host and a friendly chicken puppet named Chica. Chica later even got her own TV show! The show's set changed over time. It started in a place called The Sunshine Barn, which looked like a farm. Later, the show moved to a "city apartment" set. The hosts would introduce other shows, read birthday wishes, lead fun activities, and share messages from young viewers called "Sproutlets."

About the Show
Sunny Side Up aired every weekday morning. It ran from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Eastern Time. The hosts would play games, sing songs, tell stories, and show birthday cards or artwork sent in by kids.
The show had daily activities for viewers. One popular segment was "The Good Egg Awards." This was later renamed "The Kindness Kid Awards." It celebrated cool things viewers had done. Another segment was "Sproutlet Stories." Here, young viewers could share their own made-up stories. These stories had different plots, characters, and settings.
The show had two main theme songs. From 2007 to 2015, the song was "Hello, Hello." From 2015 to 2017, the theme song changed to "Chica's Here."
Show Segments Over Time
The show's segments changed a bit over the years. Here's a look at how the fun unfolded.
Early Years (2007–2015)
The show always started with the host and Chica saying hello. They would talk about the date, the weather, and the day's special theme.
Next, it was time for birthday cards and wishes. A puppet named Mr. Mailman would deliver the cards to The Sunshine Barn. After that, the hosts would lead a different song or dance each day.
Another fun part was when the hosts made a craft or cooked a recipe. Sometimes, they would even show off viewers' ideas for Chica's disguises. This was based on an app called "Dress Chica."
In 2009, "The Good Egg Awards" started. The hosts would read out awards given to viewers online for their achievements. Then, everyone would do a dance called the Barnyard Boogie. In 2013, the Barnyard Boogie was replaced. The new segment was "Sproutlet Stories." Viewers could create three different kinds of stories: pirate, royal, or space adventures.
In 2014, a new segment called "Chica's Choice" was added. A small spinning wheel would decide a fun activity for everyone to do. The show would also share any remaining birthday cards and wishes.
In 2011, after the show What's Your News?, the hosts would present the Sproutlet News Report. Viewers could share what they did and how they showed kindness. In 2014, an animated Chica visited characters from Astroblast!. In 2015, the Sproutlet News Report showed a computer-animated Chica visiting characters from Ruff-Ruff, Tweet and Dave. The hosts would end the show by telling viewers to watch the Sprout Sharing Show and The Good Night Show next.
Later Years (2015–2017)
In September 2015, Sprout got a new look. The Sunny Side Up set changed from the barn to a city apartment.
Birthday cards and crafts were still a part of the show. However, some segments like Dress Chica, Chica's Choice, Sproutlet Stories, and Sproutlet News Report were temporarily removed. In 2017, Chica was no longer on the show. This was to make way for a new block called Sprout House.
