Titan A.E. is an exciting science fiction movie released in 2000. It's an animated film made by Fox Animation Studios and 20th Century Fox. The movie's name comes from a special spacecraft called the Titan. The "A.E." stands for "After Earth", which gives you a clue about the story!
This film uses both traditional hand-drawn animation and computer-generated images. This mix of styles helped create its unique look. Even though it's a cool movie, Titan A.E. didn't earn a lot of money when it first came out in theaters.

Earth's Destruction
The movie starts in the year 3028 A.D. Our home planet, Earth, is suddenly attacked by powerful aliens called the Drej. These aliens are made of pure energy. Their spacecraft fires a huge energy beam, destroying Earth completely.
As Earth is destroyed, hundreds of space vehicles escape. They carry the last of mankind into outer space. A secret ship called the Titan also leaves. On board is Professor Sam Tucker. His young son, Cale, escapes on a different ship. Cale keeps a special ring his father gave him.
Cale's Journey
Fifteen years later, Cale works at a salvage station. Humans have become drifters in space. They are often treated badly by other alien races. One day, a human captain named Joseph Korso and his pilot Akima find Cale. They tell him he must help them find the Titan.
Korso explains that the Titan holds special machinery. This machinery can create a new Earth to save humanity. The Drej want to find the Titan to destroy it. Cale learns that the ring from his father is a map to the Titan.
A Betrayal and a New Hope
As their journey continues, Cale and Akima discover a shocking secret. Korso isn't trying to save humanity. He plans to hand the Titan over to the Drej! Cale and Akima manage to escape from Korso. They end up stranded on a drifter colony.
At the colony, Cale and Akima fix an old, wrecked spacecraft. They use it to travel to where the Titan is hidden. Inside the Titan, they learn that Professor Tucker helped design the ship. The designers knew Earth might be destroyed. So, they built the Titan to create a new planet. It even carries the DNA of every Earth plant and animal to repopulate a new world.
The Final Battle
The Titan needs energy to create a new planet. Korso finds and boards the Titan. He attacks Cale and Akima. During a fight, Korso falls over a railing. Cale tries to save him, but Korso slips and falls.
Cale, Akima, and others from Korso's ship work together. They defend the Titan from a Drej attack. Cale realizes that the energy from the Drej ships might power the Titan. Korso reappears and makes a sacrifice. He fixes a broken circuit just as a Drej ship fires an energy beam at the Titan.
Using the power of the Drej's beam, the Titan powers up. It absorbs all the Drej's energy, destroying them. The ship then creates a brand new planet! The movie ends with Akima and Cale standing on their new world. Akima wants to name it "New Earth," but Cale jokes about naming it "Bob."
