Tomasello Winery is a very old and famous place in Hammonton, New Jersey. This is where they make different kinds of wine. It is the second oldest winery still open in New Jersey, after Renault Winery.
The first grapevines were planted here way back in 1888. The winery then opened its doors to visitors in 1933. This was right after a time called Prohibition ended. During Prohibition, it was against the law to make or sell alcohol.
Tomasello Winery is one of the biggest wine producers in New Jersey. They have 70 acres of land where they grow grapes. Each year, they make about 65,000 cases of wine! Even though the main winery is in Hammonton, most of their grapes grow on three big farms in a nearby town. The winery is named after the Tomasello family, who own it.
