Vicques is a village in Switzerland. It used to be a separate town (called a municipality). It is located in the Jura canton, which is like a state in Switzerland. Vicques was once known as Wix in German.

On January 1, 2013, Vicques joined with two other towns, Montsevelier and Vermes. They all became part of a new, larger municipality called Val Terbi.

High above Vicques, you can find the Jura Observatory. This is a special place where people study stars and space.

Vicques is a very old place. The first time it was ever written about was in the year 866. Back then, it was called Vicum.

Vicques covered an area of about 12.75 square kilometers. A large part of this land, almost half (46.2%), was used for farming. Another big part (45.9%) was covered by forests.

About 7.2% of the land was built up with buildings and roads. A small amount (0.6%) was rivers or lakes. The rest was land that couldn't be used for farming or building.

Most of the built-up area was homes and other buildings. Roads and transportation took up a smaller part. In the forests, most trees were dense, and some areas had small groups of trees or orchards.

For farming, people grew crops on 23% of the land. Another 12.4% was used for pastures where animals graze. Alpine pastures, often higher up, made up 10.4%. All the water in Vicques was flowing water, like rivers and streams.

This former town is located in the Delémont district. It sits in a valley known as Val Terbi.
