Villars-le-Grand was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Vaud area, which is called a canton. This town was part of the Broye-Vully region.
On July 1, 2011, Villars-le-Grand joined with several other nearby towns. These towns were Bellerive, Chabrey, Constantine, Montmagny, Mur, and Vallamand. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Vully-les-Lacs.

History of Villars-le-Grand
Villars-le-Grand is an old place with a long history. The first time anyone wrote about it was in the year 1246. Back then, it was known by the name Uilar.
Geography and Land Use
Villars-le-Grand covered an area of about 4.2 square kilometers (about 1.6 square miles). Most of this land was used for farming. About 87.6% of the area was farmland, where crops were grown.
A smaller part, about 3.1%, was covered by forests. The remaining land, about 8.3%, had buildings and roads. A tiny bit, 1.9%, was made up of rivers or lakes. The area's water comes from flowing rivers.
Before 2006, Villars-le-Grand was part of the Avenches District. When that district was closed, Villars-le-Grand became part of the new Broye-Vully district.
