Montmagny was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Vaud area, specifically in the Broye-Vully district.
On July 1, 2011, Montmagny joined with several other towns. These towns were Bellerive, Chabrey, Constantine, Mur, Vallamand, and Villars-le-Grand. Together, they formed a new, larger town called Vully-les-Lacs.

Montmagny's History
Montmagny is a very old place. It was first written about in the 13th century. Back then, it was known by a different name, Manniaco.
Later, in 1458, its name changed slightly to Montmagniel. This shows how the town's name has evolved over hundreds of years.

Montmagny covers an area of about 3.8 square kilometers (1.5 square miles). A large part of this land is used for farming. About 73% of the area is farmland.
Forests cover about 21% of Montmagny. The remaining land, about 4.5%, has buildings and roads. A small part, 1.8%, includes rivers or lakes.
The town is located in the hilly area of the Vully region. This region is known for its beautiful landscapes. Montmagny was part of the Avenches District until 2006. After that, it became part of the new Broye-Vully district.
