Chabrey was once a small town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Broye-Vully area within the canton of Vaud.
On July 1, 2011, Chabrey joined with several other nearby towns. These towns were Bellerive, Constantine, Montmagny, Mur, Vallamand, and Villars-le-Grand. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Vully-les-Lacs.

History of Chabrey
Chabrey is quite old! The first time anyone wrote about Chabrey was in the year 1343. Back then, it was spelled Charbrey.
Exploring Chabrey's Geography
Chabrey covered an area of about 3.96 square kilometers (1.53 square miles) in 2009. A big part of this land, about 43.7%, was used for farming. This means people grew crops or raised animals there.
Another large section, 36.4%, was covered by forests. About 7.6% of the land had buildings or roads. A small part, 0.5%, was rivers or lakes. The remaining 11.4% was land that couldn't be used for farming or building.
Most of the farmed land was used for growing crops. Some areas were pastures for animals or orchards for fruit. All the water in Chabrey was from lakes.
Chabrey is located right along the shore of Lake Neuchâtel. This beautiful lake is a major feature of the area. Before 2006, Chabrey was part of the Avenches District. When that district was closed, Chabrey became part of the new Broye-Vully district.
Chabrey's Coat of Arms
Every town often has a special symbol called a coat of arms. It's like a unique badge for the town. Chabrey's coat of arms has a red background. It shows a silver stripe going across it. On this stripe, there is a badger, which is a type of animal.

Chabrey's World Heritage Site
Chabrey is home to a very special place called Pointe de Montbec I. This site is part of the Prehistoric Pile dwellings around the Alps. These are ancient settlements built on stilts over water. They are so important that UNESCO has named them a World Heritage Site. This means they are protected for everyone to learn from.
