Constantine was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the canton of Vaud, within the Broye-Vully area.
In 2011, Constantine joined with several other towns. These included Bellerive, Chabrey, Montmagny, Mur, Vallamand, and Villars-le-Grand. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Vully-les-Lacs.

History of Constantine
Constantine has a long history. It was first mentioned in official records way back in 1228. At that time, its name was written as Costantina.
Geography of Constantine
Constantine covered an area of about 2.81 square kilometers (1.08 square miles) in 2009. A big part of this land, about 68.7%, was used for farming. Forests covered another 14.2% of the area.
About 14.9% of the land was developed with buildings and roads. A small part, 1.8%, was made up of rivers or lakes. The rest, about 0.4%, was land that couldn't be used for farming or building.
The town was located on the southern side of Mont Vully. It included the main village of Constantine. It also had the southern part of another village called Salavaux.

The blazon (official description) of Constantine's coat of arms is quite simple. It shows a silver background. On it, there is a green branch standing upright. This branch has five green leaves.
People of Constantine
In 2009, Constantine had a population of 301 people. About 8.5% of these people were foreign nationals. Over ten years, from 1999 to 2009, the population grew by 14.4%. This growth was mostly because more people moved into the town.
Most people in Constantine speak French. In 2000, about 82.9% of the population spoke French. German was the second most common language, spoken by 10.7% of the people. Portuguese was third, spoken by 3.6%.
Many residents were born in the area. In 2000, about 32.5% of the people were born in Constantine itself. Another 29.3% were born in the same canton (Vaud). About 26.4% were born elsewhere in Switzerland. Only 11.8% were born outside of Switzerland.
