Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (Urdu: ذوالفقار علی بھٹو, Sindhi: ذوالفقار علي ڀُٽو; January 5, 1928 – April 4, 1979) was an important Pakistani politician. He served as the President of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973. Later, he became the Prime Minister of Pakistan, serving from 1973 to 1977.

Bhutto was also the person who started the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). This party became one of the biggest and most important political groups in Pakistan. He studied in the United States at the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied in the United Kingdom at Oxford University. His life ended in 1979 during a time of political change in Pakistan. Many of his supporters call him Shaheed, which is an Urdu word meaning martyr. They sometimes call him Quaid-e-Awam, meaning "The Leader of the Community".
