New College Founded
King Henry VI of England started a new school in 1441. It was called King's College. This college became part of the famous University of Cambridge in England.

Early Contact with Ethiopia
Two people from Ethiopia traveled to Florence, Italy. They went there for a special meeting called an ecclesiastical council. This meeting was about possibly joining the Coptic and Roman Catholic Christian churches. This visit was the first time anyone recorded the Ethiopian Church having contact with Europe.
