The 1933–34 NHL season was the 17th season for the National Hockey League. Nine teams played 48 games each. The Chicago Black Hawks won the Stanley Cup that year. They beat the Detroit Red Wings three games to one in the final series.

After the regular season, the best teams play in the Stanley Cup playoffs. This is a special tournament where teams compete to win the Stanley Cup, one of the oldest and most famous trophies in sports! The team that wins the final series gets to lift the cup.
