The All-Star Cup (also called "All*Star Cup") was a fun golf competition. It brought together famous people from different fields. They played golf against each other, just like in the famous Ryder Cup tournament.

The first event happened in 2005. It took place at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales. The show was first shown on Sky One. Later, the second series was on ITV and ITV2.

The First All-Star Cup (2005)

In 2005, two teams of celebrities competed. One team was from America, and the other was from Europe. The American team's captain was Mark O'Meara. The European team was led by Colin Montgomerie.

Sky One showed this exciting event. The presenters were Kirsty Gallacher and Jamie Theakston. The show was created by the famous TV duo, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The competition was very close! The winner was decided on the very last hole. Ronan Keating and Damian Lewis from Team Europe won their match. This gave Europe the cup with a score of 91 to 89.

The Second All-Star Cup (2006)

The second All-Star Cup happened from August 26 to 28, 2006. ITV1 and ITV2 showed the event. Ant & Dec hosted the live show on ITV. Kirsty Gallacher and Ben Shephard presented the ITV2 coverage.

Colin Montgomerie was again the captain for Team Europe. The American team had a new captain, Todd Hamilton.

Europe won the cup for the second time in a row! The winning shot was made by entertainer Bruce Forsyth. He was 78 years old at the time. His teammates even called him 'The Golfather' because of his great play. You can read more about it here: BBC News article.

Here are the celebrities who played in 2006:

James Keach joined the team on the second day. He replaced Chazz Palminteri, who had to leave due to an injury.
†† Jane Seymour is from Britain. However, she played for the United States team. This is because she is now a citizen of the U.S.

Why the Show Ended

The All-Star Cup did not have a third series in 2007. This was because ITV decided not to provide the money needed to produce the show again.
