Arquitectonica was founded by architects Bernardo Fort-Brescia, Laurinda Hope Spear, Andrés Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, and Hervin Romney. Today, Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Hope Spear still lead the company. Arquitectonica's buildings often look very modern and expressive, almost like high-tech art. They use interesting patterns and designs on the outside of their buildings.
The company has designed many well-known buildings. These include the Banco de Credito Headquarters in Lima, Peru, the Atlantis Condominium and the American Airlines Arena in Miami, and the Westin Hotel in New York City. Arquitectonica's main office is in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami.
