History of Brush, Colorado
Brush, Colorado was named after a man called Jared L. Brush. He was an important cattle rancher in Colorado. Even though the town is named after him, Jared L. Brush never actually lived in Brush. He helped to settle the area now known as Greeley. Later, he became the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado. He enjoyed visiting "his town" often. The town officially became a city after an election in 1884.
