Burkina Faso is a country in West Africa. It has been sending its best athletes to compete in the Summer Olympic Games for many years. The Olympics are a huge international sports event where athletes from all over the world come together to compete.
Burkina Faso first competed in the Olympics in 1972. Back then, the country was known as Upper Volta. After that, they started competing regularly in 1988. For a long time, Burkina Faso didn't win any Olympic medals. But that changed at the 2020 Summer Olympics! An amazing athlete named Hugues Fabrice Zango won a bronze medal in the men's triple jump event. This was a very proud moment for the country. Burkina Faso has never sent athletes to the Winter Olympic Games.
