History of Cerniaz

Cerniaz is an old place with a long history. The first time Cerniaz was ever written about was in the year 1444. Back then, it was known by a slightly different name, Sernia.

The former municipality of Cerniaz included the main village of Cerniaz. It also had a smaller settlement called La Morettaz, which is a tiny village or group of houses.
