Early Hockey Days
Junior Leagues and Charity Work
Chris Campoli started his hockey journey playing minor ice hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). As a young player, he even took part in the 1998 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
From 2000 to 2004, he played for the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), a major junior league for young players. In his last season, he was the team captain. While in Erie, Pennsylvania, Campoli was known for his kindness. He volunteered at the local Shriners Hospital, playing games with the young patients and helping the staff. For his charity work, he won the Dan Snyder Memorial Trophy in 2004 as the OHL's top humanitarian.
Professional Career

New York Islanders
In the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the New York Islanders chose Campoli in the seventh round. He made his NHL debut in the 2005–06 season and had a great start. In his very first game, he scored a goal on his first shot! He played 80 games that season, scoring nine goals and 25 assists.
A memorable moment happened on November 3, 2008. In a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Campoli scored a game-winning goal in overtime. However, the puck went right through the net, and the referees didn't see it. So, he got the puck again and scored a second time to make sure his team won!
Ottawa and Chicago
On February 20, 2009, the Islanders traded Campoli to the Ottawa Senators. He played with the Senators for about two years.
Then, on February 28, 2011, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. He joined the team just in time for the playoffs. After the season, Campoli and the Blackhawks could not agree on a new contract, so he became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.
Later Career
For the 2011–12 season, Campoli signed a one-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens. After his time in Montreal, he played for several years in Europe. He joined teams in Switzerland, like EHC Biel and HC Lugano, and later played in Sweden for HV71.
After a two-year break from professional hockey, Campoli returned to the ice in 2018. He joined the Stoney Creek Generals, a senior men's team in Canada, to compete for the Allan Cup.
