Playing Career

Junior Hockey Days

Chris Campoli started playing minor ice hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. He even played in a big tournament called the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament when he was younger.

He then played four years for the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2000 to 2004. In his final season, he was the team captain. Chris also spent time volunteering at the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Erie, Pennsylvania. He would play games with the children and help the staff. His kind work earned him the Dan Snyder Memorial Trophy in 2004, which is given to the OHL's top humanitarian player. He also won the CHL Humanitarian of the Year award that same year.

Chris Campoli was chosen by the New York Islanders in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He was picked in the seventh round, as the 227th player overall.

He made his NHL debut with the Islanders in the 2005–06 season. In his very first game, he scored his first NHL goal on his first shot! He beat the Buffalo Sabres goaltender, Ryan Miller, to tie the game.

Chris played for the Islanders for several seasons. In 2008, he did something very rare: he scored two overtime goals in the same game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The first shot went through the net but wasn't seen by the officials, so he circled back and scored again!

On February 20, 2009, Chris was traded from the Islanders to the Ottawa Senators. He played for the Senators until February 2011, when he was traded again, this time to the Chicago Blackhawks. After his time with the Blackhawks, he signed a one-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens in 2011.

After playing in the NHL, Chris decided to play hockey in Europe. In 2013, he signed with EHC Biel in Switzerland. He then played for HC Lugano, another Swiss team, and later for HV71 in Sweden. He played in Sweden for a few seasons.

After a break from professional hockey, Chris returned to play in Canada. In 2018, he joined the Stoney Creek Generals to compete for the Allan Cup. He later played for the Brantford Blast.
