Cold Norton is a village located in Essex, England. It's part of the Dengie Peninsula, a lovely countryside area. The village is about 10 miles east of Chelmsford. You can find it just over a mile north of the River Crouch. From the village's main hill, you can even see the river! Nearby villages include Purleigh and North Fambridge. Cold Norton is part of the Purleigh area within the Maldon district.

Golf Courses
The Three Rivers Golf and Country Club has two golf courses. The main one is the Kings Course. It has 18 holes and is 6,449 yards long. It's a par 72 course. There's also a smaller 18-hole course called the Jubilee Course. This one is a par 64.
Local School
Cold Norton Primary School is located on St Stephens Road. It's the main school for younger students in the village.
St Stephen's Church
The local church in Cold Norton is called St Stephen's. It made history as the place where the first Church of England marriage ceremony was performed by a woman priest. This was a very important moment for the church.
Stow Maries Aerodrome
Within Cold Norton, you'll find the Stow Maries Aerodrome. This is a very special place because it's a grade II listed building. This means it's protected because of its historical importance. The aerodrome was built during World War I. Its job was to help defend London from attacks by zeppelin airships. Today, 24 of its original buildings are still standing. They have been carefully restored to look as they did long ago.
The Norton Public House
The Norton Public House is a local pub in the village. It reopened in August 2009. What's special about it is that local residents run it as volunteers. They work together with the owners of the building. The pub was even shown on a TV series called Save our Boozer on UKTV Blighty.
Village Hall Funding
The Cold Norton village hall received a big grant of £348,500. This money came from the Big Lottery Fund. It was given through the lottery fund's community buildings program. This helps to improve and maintain important community spaces.
