Dianne Claire Buswell (born on May 6, 1989) is a professional dancer from Australia. She is famous for being on the British TV show Strictly Come Dancing. Dianne first competed on Dancing with the Stars in Australia. Then, she joined the British Strictly in 2017. She reached the final in 2018 with Joe Sugg and again in 2023 with Bobby Brazier. In 2024, she won the competition with Chris McCausland. For this win, she also received a BAFTA award in 2025.

Dianne's Dance Journey
Dianne Buswell was once an Australian Open champion. She was also a finalist four times in the Amateur Australian Open. With her brother, Andrew Buswell, she won the Western Australian Open Adult New Vogue championships in 2008 and 2010. New Vogue is a style of ballroom dancing. She also appeared on So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
Dianne became a professional dancer when she was 21. She joined the dance company Burn the Floor in January 2011. In 2015, she was a professional dancer on the fifteenth season of Australia's Dancing with the Stars. She danced with AFL star Jude Bolton. They were the fifth couple to leave the show.
Dancing on Strictly Come Dancing
Dianne moved to the United Kingdom to join the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. This show is the original version of Dancing with the Stars.
- 2017 Series: Dianne joined Strictly in 2017. Her first celebrity partner was Reverend Richard Coles. They were the second couple to be eliminated. They lost a dance-off to Simon Rimmer and Karen Hauer. Later that year, Dianne danced with TV presenter Tim Vincent for a Children in Need special.
- 2018 Series: For the 2018 series, she partnered with YouTuber Joe Sugg. They were runners-up in the final. Other runners-up were Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice, and Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev. The winners were Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton. In early 2019, Dianne and Joe performed in the Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour. They won 28 out of 29 shows.
- 2019 Series: Dianne returned for her third series in 2019. She was paired with radio DJ Dev Griffin. They were the third couple to leave the show. They lost a dance-off to Emma Weymouth and Aljaž Skorjanec.
- 2020 Series: For series 18 in 2020, she danced with The Wanted singer, Max George. They were the third couple to be eliminated. They lost a dance-off to Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez.
- 2021 Series: Dianne came back for series 19 in 2021. Her partner was Robert Webb, a comedian and actor. Robert had to leave the competition after three weeks because of health issues.
- 2022 Series: In 2022, she was paired with radio and TV presenter Tyler West for series 20. They were the eighth couple to be eliminated. They lost a dance-off to Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu.
- 2023 Series: In 2023, she danced with actor and model Bobby Brazier for series 21. They finished as runners-up. The other runners-up were Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin. The champions were Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.
- 2024 Series: In 2024, she was paired with comedian Chris McCausland for series 22. They won the series! This was Dianne's first win. Chris became the first blind contestant to win. In May 2025, their waltz won a British Academy Television Award for Memorable Moment. This dance included a part where Chris walked without help and without seeing.

Dianne's YouTube and Other Work
Dianne started her own YouTube channel in March 2019. By December 2019, she was named the UK's most-subscribed new YouTuber of the year. She had gained almost 230,000 subscribers.
Before becoming a professional dancer, Dianne was a hairdresser. In 2021, she hosted a podcast with BBC Sounds called 'Di's Salon'. On the show, she talked to guests about their past hairstyles.
In 2022, Dianne took part in the reality TV show Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof on BBC One.
In January 2025, Dianne and her Strictly partner Chris McCausland started a podcast together called Winning Isn't Everything.

Dianne's Personal Life
Dianne Buswell was born in Bunbury, Western Australia. She started dancing at age 5. From a young age, she competed in dance events across her state, nationally, and internationally. These events included Ballroom and Latin dance styles.
In late 2018, Dianne started dating Joe Sugg. He was her celebrity partner from Strictly Come Dancing. The couple shared in August 2019 that they were living together. In February 2021, they announced that they had bought their first house together.
