About Joe Sugg

Early Life and Family

Joe Sugg was born in Lacock, Wiltshire, England. He went to The Corsham School in Corsham. The name of his YouTube channel, 'ThatcherJoe', comes from his first job. He used to be an apprentice roof thatcher. Joe's older sister is Zoe Sugg, who is also a popular internet personality. She is known as Zoella on YouTube.

In a TV show called Who Do You Think You Are?, Joe learned about his family history. He found out that some of his ancestors worked with early electrical telegraphs. Another ancestor was a jeweler in London and survived the Great Fire of London.
