Eva Son-Forget (born 15 April 1983) is a French politician who was born in South Korea. She lives in Switzerland and also has citizenship from Kosovo and Switzerland.

Eva Son-Forget was adopted by a French family when she was a child. She studied the brain and worked as a radiologist, which is a doctor who uses imaging to see inside the body. She was involved in different political parties, including the Socialist Party and La République En Marche! (LREM). She later started her own party called Valeur Absolue.

From 2017 to 2022, Eva Son-Forget was a member of the National Assembly, which is like a parliament in France. She often appeared in interviews and used social media a lot. Her use of social media, especially sharing funny or satirical content, got a lot of attention.

Eva Son-Forget was born in South Korea. She was adopted by a French family and grew up in a town called Langres. She later studied in different cities like Dijon, Paris, and Lausanne.

In 2005, she earned a Master's degree in cognitive science. This field studies how the mind works, including thinking and learning. In 2008, she finished her medical studies. Later, in 2015, she earned a special doctorate degree in medicine and cognitive neuroscience. Her research focused on how our brain understands our body in space.

Political Journey

Eva Son-Forget supported François Hollande in the 2012 French presidential election. She was active in the French Socialist Party in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2017, she joined Emmanuel Macron's political movement, "En Marche!", which later became La République En Marche (LREM).

Becoming a Member of Parliament

In 2017, Eva Son-Forget ran for election to the National Assembly. She represented French citizens living in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. She won the election with a large number of votes and became a Member of Parliament.

Time in the National Assembly

As a Member of Parliament, Eva Son-Forget worked on the Foreign Affairs Committee. She also led a group that focused on relations between France and South Korea. She was also a vice-president of the group for France-Kosovo relations.

In late 2018, she left the LREM party and its group in the National Assembly. She said she still supported President Macron. Soon after, she announced she would create her own political party. This party was first called Je suis français et européen (meaning "I am French and European"). In 2019, it was renamed Valeur Absolue (meaning "Absolute Value").

After leaving LREM, she joined another group of politicians for a while. Later, she became an independent member, meaning she did not belong to any specific political group for the rest of her time in the National Assembly.

2022 Elections and Beyond

In 2020, Eva Son-Forget said she would run for president in the 2022 French presidential election. She later supported another candidate, Éric Zemmour, during his campaign. She described herself as a conservative. After Zemmour was not elected, she supported Emmanuel Macron in the second round of the election.

She also ran for re-election to the National Assembly in 2022 as an independent candidate. However, she was not re-elected. In December 2022, she announced she had joined a political party in Switzerland called the Democratic Union of the Centre. However, her application to join was later rejected.

Personal Life

Eva Son-Forget lives in Switzerland with her three children.

She has been very interested in Kosovo since she was a teenager. In 2018, the President of Kosovo gave her Kosovar citizenship.

Besides her political and medical work, Eva Son-Forget enjoys playing the harpsichord, which is an old musical instrument. She also practices long range shooting and different martial arts like karate. In 2019, she recorded a song called En Couleurs.

In November 2024, Eva Son-Forget publicly shared that she had changed her legal first name to Eva and her gender to female in Canton of Geneva, Switzerland.
