Meet the Fantastic Max Characters
Main Heroes of the Show
- Maxwell "Fantastic Max" Young - Max is a baby boy who can talk and think like an adult, thanks to his alien doll, FX. He's super brave and loves adventures, even if they sometimes get him into trouble. Max always cares about his friends and the people he meets. When things go wrong, he often exclaims, "Dirty diapers!"
- FX - This alien doll has magical powers! He can create almost anything, like a baby-bottle-shaped rocket from sand, which Max uses to travel through space. FX is Max's best friend. He even cried when they were separated in one episode. His special phrase is "Rocket and Roll!", which also activates his powers.
- A.B. Sitter - A.B. is a toy robot brought to life by FX. He tries his best to keep Max safe, but it rarely works, and he often annoys Max. A.B. acts like a nanny for Max. He doesn't love going into space as much as the others, but he always goes to keep Max out of danger.
- Zoe Young - Zoe is Max's five-year-old sister. Sometimes, she gets pulled into her brother's space adventures. Max doesn't always think highly of her and calls her "dumb." She's rivals with their neighbor, Ben. Zoe often suspects Max's secret trips, but Max usually puts her to sleep so she can't tell anyone.
- Mr. and Mrs. Young - These are Max and Zoe's parents. They have no idea about their baby son's secret space life! They seem to pay more attention to Max than Zoe. You never see their faces or the backs of their heads in the show.
- King Klutzes - A friendly knight with an orange beard who rides a white horse. He became friends with Max, A.B., and FX when they were lost. He needed their help to solve a riddle about dragons. He only appeared in the episode "Stitches in Time."
- Rooty the Carrot – Imagine a giant carrot from a planet of vegetables! Zoe found him and entered him in a carrot-growing contest. Rooty asked Max for help to escape a huge rabbit named Fatso who wanted to eat him. He returned to his home planet at the end of his only episode, "Carrot Encounter of the Third Kind."
- Denise - A baby and a good friend of Max. She goes to Sherman's Daycare Center with her friend Magik. Denise and Magik joined Max on a space adventure when Max was bored. Denise is mostly quiet but did laugh with Max and Magik once, saying "(laughs) Space Gypsies." She loves candy, especially bubble gum. She only appeared in "All in a Babe's Work."
- Magik - Another baby friend of Max from Sherman's Daycare Center. Unlike Denise, he speaks well, often saying "My man" to Max. He joined Max and Denise on a space trip. He also loves candy, especially bubblegum, which he uses to help stop villains. He only appeared in "All in a Babe's Work."
Villains and Rivals
- Bronx - A ringmaster who appeared in "Monkey See, Monkey Zoo."
- Goldie - A space gypsy who appeared in "All in a Babe's Work." His catchphrase was "Goldie the (laughs) Space Gypsy!" He had two helpers, Cosmo and Gar.
- Dumping Jack Trash - A garbage man who always spoke in rhymes. He appeared in several episodes, including "From Here to Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Beach Blanket Baby."
- XS - FX's mischievous cousin. He loves to tease FX for being easily scared. His power command is "Rock 'em and Sock 'em!" He appeared in "Cooking Mother Goose" and "Boo Who?".
- Amanda - Zoe's friend who doesn't believe in superstitions. She appeared in "Cooking Mother Goose."
- Ben Letterman - The Young family's next-door neighbor and Zoe's rival. Max, FX, and A.B. don't like him because he bothers them, boasts, and plays mean tricks. Max even says Ben is "a bigger jerk than Zoe."
- Fatso - A big rabbit from another planet who wants to eat Rooty the Carrot. His name is pronounced "Fah-Zo." He appeared in "Carrot Encounters of the Third Kind."
- Magellan the Cloud Keeper - Also known as the "Evil, nasty, bad-tempered, spiteful, etc. pirate." He was very mean and refused to help Max and his friends when their beach planet was drying up. He appeared in "Beach Blanket Baby."
- Pumpernickel - An evil wizard with black hair and a black mustache. He had a talking pet raven named Blackie. He tried to take over the world and appeared in "Stitches in Time." He also hates pumpernickel bread!
- Black-Hole Bart - A bad cowboy who cheats in rodeos. He appeared in "Cowboy Max."
- Mr. Tartar - A plump villain who loves bling and has a blond hairstyle. He appeared with his robot helper, Mr. Wrenchley, in "To Tell the Tooth." He was stealing teeth from under children's pillows to become rich!
- Sticky Wicket - A toy designer who tried to turn FX into a toy line. He was fired from his job and started advertising cookies called Wicky-Biscuits. He appeared in "Toys Will Be Toys."
- Unnamed Villain - This villain appeared in "Movie Star Max." He stole Max's diaper during a film festival, claiming it was the "galaxy's greatest souvenir," which embarrassed Max.
