Ferran Torres García (born 29 February 2000) is a Spanish professional footballer. He plays as a forward or winger. Ferran plays for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team.

He started his career at Valencia and made his first team debut in 2017. In 2020, he moved to Manchester City. There, he won the Premier League and the EFL Cup in the 2020–21 season. Ferran joined Barcelona in January 2022. He has also played for Spain's national teams at different age levels. He made his debut for the senior national team in 2020.

Ferran Torres was born in Foios, Spain. He joined Valencia CF's youth team when he was just six years old in 2006. He first played for Valencia's reserve team, Valencia Mestalla, in 2016. He scored his first goal for the reserve team in August 2017.

Torres made his first team debut for Valencia on 30 November 2017. This was in a Copa del Rey match. He then played his first La Liga game on 16 December. This made him the first player born in the 2000s to play in the league. In October 2018, he played his first Champions League match. He scored his first La Liga goal in January 2019. Valencia won the 2019 Copa del Rey Final that season.

On 5 November 2019, Torres scored his first Champions League goal. He became Valencia's youngest goalscorer in that competition. On 23 November, he played his 50th La Liga game for Valencia. This made him the youngest player for the club to reach 50 league games.

Time at Manchester City

On 4 August 2020, Ferran Torres joined English club Manchester City. He signed a five-year contract. He made his debut for City in their first game of the season. This was a 3–1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. On 30 September, he scored his first goal for the club. This happened in an EFL Cup match against Burnley.

On 21 October 2020, he scored in his Champions League debut for Manchester City. A week later, he scored again in the Champions League. This made him the youngest Spanish player to score in three Champions League games in a row. On 14 May, Torres scored his first hat-trick for City. This was in a 4–3 league win against Newcastle United.

Joining FC Barcelona

On 28 December 2021, Ferran Torres moved to Barcelona. He signed a five-year contract. On 20 January 2022, he scored his first goal for Barcelona. This was in a Copa del Rey match. On 20 March 2022, he scored and assisted a goal in his first El Clásico. Barcelona won that game 4–0.

During his first six months, Torres played 25 games and scored seven goals. He had a difficult period with his form in 2022. He later shared that he worked with a psychologist to help him through it.

On 21 January 2024, Torres scored his first hat-trick for Barcelona. This was also his 100th game for the club. On 11 December, he scored two goals in a Champions League match. This helped Barcelona win 3–2 against Borussia Dortmund. On 6 February 2025, he scored another hat-trick. This was against his former club Valencia in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

On 2 April 2025, he scored the only goal against Atlético Madrid. This win helped Barcelona reach the Copa del Rey final. On 26 April 2025, he scored a late goal in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. Barcelona won the final in extra time. Torres was named the best player of the final. He was also the top goal scorer in the competition. On 11 May 2025, Torres made three assists in a 4–3 win against Real Madrid.

International Career

Youth Teams

Ferran Torres played for Spain's youth national teams. He was part of the Spain U17 squad that won the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He also helped them reach the final of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

He was in the Spain U19 squad that won the 2019 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He scored both goals in the 2–0 final victory against Portugal.

Senior National Team

Ferran Torres was called up to the senior Spain national team in 2020. He made his debut on 3 September 2020 against Germany. Three days later, he scored his first goal for Spain against Ukraine. On 17 November 2020, he scored his first international hat-trick. This was in a 6–0 win over Germany.

In May 2021, Torres was chosen for Spain's UEFA Euro 2020 squad. He scored a goal in the Euro 2020 Round of 16 against Croatia. In October 2021, he scored two goals against Italy in the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League semi-finals. Spain reached the final but lost to France.

In November 2022, Torres was part of Spain's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He scored two goals against Costa Rica in a 7–0 victory. In May 2024, he was named in the squad for UEFA Euro 2024. Spain won the Euro 2024 final against England. With this win, Torres became one of the few players to have won both youth and senior Euro titles.

Playing Style

Ferran Torres is known as a talented and promising attacking winger. He is fast and creative. He is good at dribbling and controlling the ball at high speed. This allows him to get past defenders. He can play on either side of the field. He is also good in the air because of his height.

He can cross the ball well, finish chances, and shoot powerfully. He is also able to play in the middle of the field if needed. He has often been used as a player who comes off the bench to change the game for Barcelona.

Personal Life

Since 2021, Ferran Torres has been in a relationship with Sira Martínez. She is the daughter of Luis Enrique, who used to be the coach of the Spain national team.
