The Great Western Divide is a large mountain range. It is part of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, USA. This range helps create the border between two amazing places: Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park.

Many of the mountains in the Great Western Divide are very tall. Some peaks reach over 13,000 feet (about 3,962 meters) high! A famous path called the High Sierra Trail crosses this range at a spot called Kaweah Gap. This trail is a great way to explore Sequoia National Park.

The Great Western Divide also separates the areas where water flows into different rivers. It divides the water for the Kaweah River, the Kern River, and the Kings River. This mountain range includes two important sections: the Kings–Kern Divide and the Kaweah Peaks Ridge.
