Hubba Bubba is a popular brand of bubble gum. It is made by the Wrigley Company, which is part of Mars, Incorporated. The gum first came out in the United States in 1979.

The name "Hubba Bubba" comes from a phrase. Soldiers in World War II used "Hubba Hubba" to show they approved of something. A cool thing about Hubba Bubba is that it's less sticky than other bubble gums. This means it's easier to get off your skin if a bubble pops!

When Hubba Bubba first started, it had one main flavor. Over time, many different and exciting flavors have been made.

The Story of Hubba Bubba Gum

Before it was called Hubba Bubba, the gum had a secret name. During its creation, it was known as "Stagecoach." This was at a Wrigley factory in Santa Cruz, California.

The first TV commercials for Hubba Bubba were set in the Wild West. They featured a character called the Gumfighter. He was played by an actor named Don Collier.

Big Bubbles, No Troubles!

At the end of each commercial, the Gumfighter would say, "Big bubbles, no troubles!" Then, a Western movie actor, Dub Taylor, would add a funny line. This saying was a clever way to show that Hubba Bubba was less sticky. It meant you could blow big bubbles without worrying about a mess.

For most of the 1980s, Hubba Bubba's main rival was another gum brand called Bubblicious.

Hubba Bubba Flavors and Forms

Hubba Bubba has been sold in many countries around the world. Each country might have different flavors available.

Flavors Around the World

In the UK, flavors like strawberry, original, and apple are popular. The original flavor even came back in 2012, saying it was "chunkier and bubblier!"

In Australia, you can find flavors such as cherry, cola, peach, strawberry, lime, pineapple, apple, orange, grape, and watermelon.

Other countries like Croatia, Germany, and Norway also have their own unique flavors. For example, Norway has licorice flavored Hubba Bubba! Canada has flavors like strawberry, grape, orange, and blue raspberry.

Over the years, even more flavors have appeared. These include lemon, cream soda, tropical, salty liquorice, and chocolate strawberry.

Different Ways to Enjoy Hubba Bubba

At first, Hubba Bubba only came in small chunks. These were usually sold in packs of five pieces.

But now, you can find Hubba Bubba in many fun forms! It's been made as shredded pieces, like Big League Chew. There are also long rolls of bubble gum tape. These tapes can be almost two meters long!

You can also find Hubba Bubba as plastic jugs of crystals. There are even boxes of tiny gumballs. Some Hubba Bubba products are even stuffed with candy!

Hubba Bubba's Return and Cartoons

Hubba Bubba was actually stopped in the U.S. in the early 1990s. But don't worry, it came back in 2004!

Animated Commercials

In the United States, Hubba Bubba commercials are animated. They use a special stop-motion style. This is the same style used in famous shows like Wallace and Gromit and the movie Chicken Run.

In Canada, the commercials are drawn in a 2D cartoon style. They feature two fun cartoon characters. One is named Hubba (who is purple) and the other is Bubba (who is pink).

As of 2012, the original flavor in the U.S. is called "Outrageous Original." Other flavors include "Strawberry Watermelon," "Cool Cola," "Sweet & Sassy Cherry," and "Mystery Flavor." In 2010, they even introduced "Mystery Max" and "Mystery Tape."
