Hurst is a city in Texas, USA. It's in Tarrant County, which is a busy area. Hurst is also part of the big Dallas–Fort Worth area. It's like a neighbor city to both Dallas and Fort Worth. People often call it part of the 'Mid-Cities' region. It's only about 13 miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, a major airport. In 2020, about 40,413 people lived there.
Hurst is surrounded by other towns like Bedford, Euless, Fort Worth, Richland Hills, North Richland Hills, Grapevine, and Colleyville. Most students in Hurst go to schools in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District. Some parts of Hurst are also served by the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Birdville ISD.
Important places in Hurst include the Tarrant County College campus, which opened in 1961. There's also a new Tarrant County Northeast Courthouse. The headquarters of Bell Helicopter is nearby. The Hurst/Bell Station for the Trinity Railway Express train opened in 2000.
Hurst is home to the North East Mall, a very popular shopping center. It's the biggest mall in Tarrant County and the third largest in Texas! The mall opened in 1972 and is owned by Simon Property Group. Hurst's main movie theater, the North East Cinemark Rave 18, opened in 2004.
