Euless (say 'YOO-liss') is a city in Tarrant County, Texas. It's a suburb located between the big cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Euless is part of the "Mid-Cities" area.
In 2020, about 61,000 people lived in Euless. The city's population grew by about 19% in ten years. A part of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is also located within Euless city limits.

History of Euless
Euless is named after a man named Elisha Adam Euless. He moved to Texas in 1867 from Tennessee. Mr. Euless bought a large piece of land, about 170 acres (0.69 km²). This land was near where North Main Street and West Euless Boulevard are today.
Elisha Euless started a cotton gin (a machine that separates cotton fibers) and a community center on his land. He quickly became an important person among the settlers. He was elected county sheriff twice, in 1892 and 1894. The community grew around his land, and people decided to name the city in his honor.
Religious Freedom Case
In 2009, a court case called Merced vs Kasson involved the City of Euless. The city had tried to stop a priest, Mr. Merced, from practicing his religion at home. The court decided that the city's rules were unfairly limiting Mr. Merced's religious freedom. The court ruled that he could continue his religious practices.

Euless covers an area of about 16.3 square miles (42.2 km²). All of this area is land.

The weather in Euless has hot and humid summers. Winters are usually mild to cool. The climate is known as a humid subtropical climate. This means it gets a lot of rain and has warm temperatures for most of the year.

Tongan Community
Euless is special because it has one of the largest groups of Tongans living outside of Tonga. There are between 3,000 and 4,000 Tongan people in Euless.
The first Tongans came to Euless in the 1960s. Some sources say it was Siupeli Netane, who worked for American Airlines, and his wife Halatono. Other sources say it was brothers Sione and Tevita Havea, who were students at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Nepalese Community
In some parts of Euless, you can find a strong Nepalese community. Many people of Nepali background have moved here, including refugees from Bhutan. Because there are many Nepalese residents in nearby Irving, important Nepalese holidays are often celebrated in Euless.
