Club History
The Brommapojkarna club was started in 1942. In its early days, the club offered many different sports. These included athletics, bandy, and ice hockey.
The club once had a special connection with Manchester United in England. This happened after a player named Bojan Djordjic moved to Manchester United in 1999. However, this agreement later ended. Brommapojkarna felt it might make it harder to work with other big English clubs.
Later, the club made a similar connection with Manchester City. This is another famous club in England. A former BP youth player, John Guidetti, played for Manchester City. He later moved to La Liga club Celta de Vigo in 2015.
Brommapojkarna's men's team first reached the top Swedish league, Allsvenskan, on November 12, 2006. They won a special play-off match against BK Häcken to get there. They made it to Allsvenskan again on November 16, 2008. They stayed in the league for the 2010 season. In 2010, they finished last and moved down to a lower league called Superettan. They played in Superettan in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, they finished second in Superettan and were promoted back to Allsvenskan for the third time.
