Music Career Highlights
Starting Her Music Journey (1992–1998)
In the early 1990s, Indira Radić joined a singing competition. She was chosen to sing in the final round in Sarajevo. But the competition was canceled because the Bosnian War started in 1992.
A few months later, Indira got in touch with a record company called Diskos. She recorded her first album, Nagrada i kazna (Prize and Punishment), in 1992. She worked with the band Južni Vetar on this album. After her first album came out, she moved to Belgrade with her family. She wanted to build her music career there.
She made two more albums with Južni Vetar: Zbog tebe (Because of You, 1993) and Ugasi me (Turn Me Off, 1994). Then, in 1995, she released her first solo album. It was simply called Indira and came out on the PGP-RTS record label. This album included the song "Srpkinja je mene majka rodila" (I Was Born to a Serb Mother).
