Jamie Lynn Spears (born April 4, 1991) is an American actress and singer. She started her career as a child actress on the show All That. She became very well known for her main role as Zoey Brooks in the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101, which aired from 2005 to 2008. She later played this role again in the movie Zoey 102 in 2023.
Jamie Lynn also plays Noreen Fitzgibbons in the Netflix romantic drama series Sweet Magnolias, which started in 2020. She has won several awards, including a Gracie Award and two Kids' Choice Awards. She is the younger sister of singer Britney Spears.
In 2007, Jamie Lynn received a lot of media attention when she announced she was going to have a baby at age 16. Many people thought this meant Zoey 101 was canceled. However, the final season of the show had already finished filming in August 2007 and aired the next year. After her daughter was born in June 2008, Jamie Lynn took a break from acting for five years.
She returned in 2013 and started her music career. She released her first song, "How Could I Want More", from her first country music album, The Journey, in 2014. Jamie Lynn also helped write the popular 2015 song "I Got the Boy" for singer Jana Kramer.

Early Life and Education
Jamie Lynn Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi. She grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana, with her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears. Her older siblings are Bryan and Britney. Her parents divorced in 2002.
She went to Parklane Academy in McComb. There, she was a cheerleader and played point guard on the basketball team. She also took dance and voice lessons and performed in school plays. As a child, Jamie Lynn often traveled with her sister Britney when she was on tour.
While filming Zoey 101 in Los Angeles, Jamie Lynn studied with tutors. She finished her education through online courses and earned her GED in February 2008.
Acting and Music Career
Early Roles and Zoey 101 Success
In February 2002, when she was 10, Jamie Lynn first appeared in the movie Crossroads. Her sister Britney starred in the film, and Jamie Lynn played a younger version of Britney's character. In April 2002, she also modeled in a fashion show in New York City.
After Crossroads, Nickelodeon chose Jamie Lynn to be a regular on the comedy show All That from 2002 to 2004. She played many different characters on the show. She also appeared on Snick On-Air Dare, which was Nickelodeon's version of Fear Factor. Jamie Lynn left All That to pursue other roles.
In August 2004, Jamie Lynn signed a deal with Nickelodeon to star in her own TV series. This show became Zoey 101, where she played the main character, Zoey Brooks. The series was about Zoey and her friends at a boarding school called Pacific Coast Academy (PCA). Jamie Lynn also sang the show's theme song, "Follow Me," which her sister Britney wrote.
Zoey 101 first aired on January 9, 2005. It was Nickelodeon's most-watched series premiere in over eight years. Jamie Lynn won a Young Artist Award and a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards for her acting. The show was popular with critics and viewers. It was even nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Programming. The series ran for four seasons, with its final episode airing on May 2, 2008.
After Jamie Lynn announced her pregnancy, Nickelodeon released a statement saying they respected her decision. Her co-star Seann Flynn praised her, saying she was very professional and always knew her lines. In 2011, Jamie Lynn moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to begin working on a country music album. On November 25, 2013, she released her first song, "How Could I Want More". The song quickly appeared on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Billboard described her performance as "sweet and innocent" but powerful.
Jamie Lynn was also featured on her older sister Britney Spears's album Britney Jean on the song "Chillin' with You". On May 27, 2014, Jamie Lynn released her first album, called The Journey. This album reached number 5 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. That year, she appeared on many country radio shows and performed at festivals. She also opened for singer Alan Jackson.
In 2016, Jamie Lynn released a documentary called Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out. This film talked about her music career and her life as a wife and mother. She performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in March 2016. In June 2016, she released her second song, "Sleepover".
Recent Projects: Sweet Magnolias and Zoey 102

On July 13, 2018, Jamie Lynn returned to Nickelodeon for the first time in over ten years. She appeared as a contestant on the game show Double Dare with her daughter Maddie. In July 2019, Netflix announced that Jamie Lynn would play Noreen Fitzgibbons in the drama series Sweet Magnolias. She has been a regular cast member in every season of the show.
In July 2020, the cast of Zoey 101 reunited for an episode of All That. Jamie Lynn played herself and her old All That character, Thelma Stump. That year, she also recorded a new version of the Zoey 101 theme song, "Follow Me," with Chantel Jeffries. The music video for the song included many celebrities and Jamie Lynn's older daughter, Maddie.
On January 18, 2022, Jamie Lynn released her book, Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out. On January 4, 2023, she joined the TV series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. In this show, contestants take part in special forces training challenges. She left the series during the third episode because she missed her children.
On July 27, 2023, the movie Zoey 102 was released on Paramount+. Jamie Lynn played her role from Zoey 101 again, along with many of the original cast members. She was also an executive producer for the film. Ready Steady Cut praised the movie as "a nostalgic and amusing watch." One day after its release, it was one of the most-watched films on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.
In late 2023, Jamie Lynn appeared in two more reality shows. She competed on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars, starting on September 26, 2023. She donated her earnings from the show to help actors and writers during a strike. She was eliminated in the second week. Jamie Lynn also appeared on the British survival reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, which premiered on November 19, 2023. She left the show after 11 days for health reasons.
Personal Life
Jamie Lynn Spears attended First Baptist Church in Kentwood, Louisiana. She became Catholic in early 2018, and her daughters and mother are also Catholic.
In 2013, Jamie Lynn was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She went to therapy and used medication for a short time. She said, "The anxiety was to the point where I couldn't function."
Family Life
On December 20, 2007, Jamie Lynn announced she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. She was 16 years old at the time. They got engaged in March 2008. In May 2008, they moved to Liberty, Mississippi. Jamie Lynn gave birth to their daughter, Maddie Briann Aldridge, on June 19, 2008.
Jamie Lynn and Casey Aldridge ended their engagement in March 2009. After her daughter's birth, Jamie Lynn stepped away from the public eye for five years to focus on raising her child. She said she wanted to "stay here, raise my baby, and figure this out because this is real life."
Later, she started a relationship with Jamie Watson, a businessman. They got engaged in March 2013. On March 14, 2014, she married Watson in New Orleans. On April 11, 2018, Jamie Lynn gave birth to her second daughter.
ATV Accident
On February 5, 2017, Jamie Lynn's daughter Maddie, who was eight years old, had an accident. She was riding a Polaris ATV and accidentally drove into a pond on her family's property in Louisiana. The ATV flipped over. Maddie was taken to Children's Hospital of New Orleans and was unconscious for two days. She woke up and was released from the hospital on February 10.
Police reported that Maddie was steering about 100 yards from her parents when she turned sharply to avoid a ditch. She was trapped by the seatbelt and safety netting. First responders quickly arrived and helped free her from the water. Jamie Lynn later explained that she and her husband Jamie Watson helped rescue Maddie.
Relationship with Britney Spears
In 2021, Jamie Lynn and her sister Britney had a public disagreement on social media. Britney said that Jamie Lynn was involved in her conservatorship and did not try to help end it. Jamie Lynn said she did not know the details of the conservatorship.
