During the Border–Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah became the fastest Indian fast bowler to reach 200 Test wickets. He did this in his 44th match. His 32 wickets in that series were the most by an Indian bowler in an overseas Test series.
Bowling Style
Bumrah is known for his unique bowling action. He has a short run-up and an unusual arm movement. This makes it hard for batters to guess where the ball will go. He bowls very fast, often around 142 km/h, and his fastest ball was 153 km/h.
He often bowls "yorkers," which are balls that land right at the batter's feet. He also bowls "short length" balls. He can make the ball swing both ways, which is tricky for batters. His "off cutter" (a slower ball) has also gotten many batters out.
Bumrah's special elbow movement helps him release the ball closer to the batter. This makes the ball seem faster. He can also put a lot of spin on the ball. This makes it lift or dip in unexpected ways.
Many famous cricketers praise Bumrah's skills. They say he is one of the best bowlers in the world.
