Early Life and School
Jennie Kim was born on January 16, 1996. She is an only child. She was born in Bundang, Seongnam, South Korea. She went to Cheongdam Elementary School in Seoul.

As a teenager, she dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer. She later attended ACG Parnell College.
While in New Zealand, Jennie discovered K-pop and became interested in YG Entertainment's music. Her mother wanted her to move to Florida, USA, at age 14 to study law or teaching.
