Kim Ji-soo (born January 3, 1995), known as Jisoo, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a member of the popular K-pop girl group Blackpink, which started in August 2016.
Jisoo first appeared as an actress in the TV show The Producers in 2015. She later played her first main role in the TV series Snowdrop (2021–2022).
In March 2023, Jisoo released her first solo album called Me. This album became the best-selling album by a female solo artist in South Korea, selling over a million copies! Her main song from the album, "Flower", was a huge hit. It reached number two on the Billboard Global 200 chart and was very popular in South Korea. It also set records for a Korean female solo artist on the Canadian Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.
In 2024, Jisoo started her own company called Blissoo. In 2025, she signed with Warner Records and released her EP Amortage. The song "Earthquake" from this EP became her first song to reach number one on the US Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
Jisoo has won many awards, including two Golden Disc Awards and three MAMA Awards. She is also the most-followed Korean actress on Instagram. She works with many famous brands, like Dior, as a global ambassador.

Life and Career Journey
Early Life and First Steps (1995–2015)
Kim Ji-soo was born on January 3, 1995, in Gunpo, South Korea. She has an older brother and sister. When she was a child, she enjoyed playing basketball and practicing taekwondo. She also dreamed of becoming a painter or a writer.
Jisoo went to high school at the School of Performing Arts Seoul. In her second-to-last year, she joined a drama club. This helped her gain more experience in the entertainment world. She also attended auditions to try and become a star.
In 2011, Jisoo joined YG Entertainment as a trainee. This meant she would train to become an idol. In 2014, she appeared in music videos for other artists like Epik High and Hi Suhyun. In 2015, she had a small role in the TV drama The Producers.
Blackpink Debut and Solo Work (2016–2022)
On August 8, 2016, Jisoo officially debuted as a member of the girl group Blackpink. The group also includes Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Their first album, Square One, featured hit songs like "Whistle" and "Boombayah." In 2018, Blackpink partnered with Interscope Records to reach fans worldwide.
From 2017 to 2018, Jisoo was a host for the music show Inkigayo. In 2019, she had a small acting role in the fantasy drama Arthdal Chronicles. In 2020, her unique hairstyles and makeup for Blackpink's song "How You Like That" became very popular online. She even helped write the lyrics for Blackpink's song "Lovesick Girls" from their album The Album.
In 2021, Jisoo took on her first main acting role in the TV series Snowdrop. She played a college student named Eun Yeong-ro. The show was very popular and ranked number one on Disney+ in several countries. In September 2022, Jisoo won an award for Outstanding Korean Actress for her role in Snowdrop. She also helped write the song "Yeah Yeah Yeah" for Blackpink's 2022 album, Born Pink.
Solo Success and New Ventures (2023–Present)
On January 2, 2023, it was announced that Jisoo would release her own solo music. Her single album Me came out on March 31, 2023. It included the hit song "Flower" and "All Eyes on Me."
Me quickly became the best-selling album by a K-pop female solo artist. "Flower" was a huge success, reaching high positions on charts around the world. Jisoo performed "Flower" on TV shows and at Blackpink's concerts, including Coachella and BST Hyde Park.
In September 2023, Jisoo made a special appearance in the film Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman. She was also cast in a new TV series called Newtopia, which is about a zombie outbreak. In December 2023, she began filming her first main movie role in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
In November 2023, Jisoo and the other Blackpink members received an honor from King Charles III in the United Kingdom. In February 2024, Jisoo started her own company, Blissoo. In January 2025, she signed a deal with Warner Records for her solo music. She released her first EP, Amortage, on February 14, 2025. Its main song, "Earthquake", became her first song to reach number one on the US Billboard World Digital Songs chart. Jisoo also starred in the zombie comedy series Newtopia, which aired from February to March 2025.
Influence and Recognition
Jisoo is a very popular K-pop idol. In 2019, she was recognized as one of the top people shaping the fashion industry. By December 2022, Time magazine noted that Jisoo was the most-followed Korean actress on Instagram. As of October 2024, she has over 79.5 million followers, making her one of the most-followed K-pop idols.
She has also had a big impact in the beauty world. In 2020, she was listed among the top celebrities influencing cosmetics. She was the only East Asian person on the list.
Jisoo's influence has even helped brands like Dior. Her marketing campaigns with Dior have been very successful. In March 2021, Dior's creative director shared that Jisoo inspired their Autumn/Winter 2021 collection. She also generated a lot of buzz at Paris Fashion Week events for Dior.
Giving Back
On her 28th birthday, January 3, 2023, Jisoo started her own YouTube channel called 'Happy Jisoo 103%'. She announced that all the money earned from her channel would be given to charity. In March 2024, it was shared that the money would go to Save the Children. In March 2025, she donated ₩150 million (about $110,000 USD) to the Korean Red Cross to help with forest fire recovery.
Brand Partnerships

Before she debuted with Blackpink, Jisoo appeared in ads for brands like Samsonite and LG Electronics. Since then, she has partnered with many other companies. In February 2021, she became the face of the Korean clothing brand It Michaa. In August 2021, she became a spokesperson for the Korean short video app CELEBe. In March 2022, Jisoo became a brand ambassador for the game MapleStory. In December 2023, Dyson chose Jisoo as their official ambassador for new hair care products. In January 2024, she became the new face for the athletic clothing brand Alo Yoga. In March 2024, she was chosen as the new face of the fashion house Self-Portrait.
Dior
In December 2019, Jisoo became a local ambassador for Dior Beauty. She later became a muse for Dior and modeled for their collections. In January 2021, a special Dior cushion foundation endorsed by Jisoo was released in Korea. In March 2021, Dior announced Jisoo as their new global ambassador, joining other famous stars. She has appeared on magazine covers and in campaigns for Dior's fashion and beauty products.
Jisoo often attends Dior's fashion shows in Paris. Her presence at these events creates a lot of excitement. She has even inspired new products, like a special lip gloss shade named "031 Strawberry" released for her birthday. In September 2024, Dior's perfume director created a special fragrance just for Jisoo.
Cartier
In September 2020, Jisoo became a main model for Cartier's Pasha de Cartier collection. In May 2022, Cartier announced her as a brand ambassador for their Panthère de Cartier community. She has also been part of campaigns celebrating Cartier's Trinity collection.
Tommy Hilfiger
In October 2024, Jisoo was announced as a global ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger. She appeared in the brand's Fall 2024 campaign and has been the face of their New Year and Spring campaigns in 2025.
Creative Collaborations
In February 2021, Jisoo worked with Line Friends to design a character for the mobile game KartRider Rush+. She drew the ideas herself, including a rabbit character named Chichi (inspired by her nickname) and a dog named Dalgom (named after her pet). These characters were also made into stickers for the Line Messenger app.
