Jennie Kim was born on January 16, 1996. She is an only child. She first went to Cheongdam Elementary School in Seoul. Later, she moved to New Zealand. When she was eight, she visited Australia and New Zealand with her family. Her mother asked if she liked New Zealand and wanted to stay. Jennie said "yes".
