Lesotho is a country in Southern Africa. It first took part in the Olympic Games in 1972. Since then, athletes from Lesotho have competed in almost every Summer Olympic Games.

The only time they didn't participate was in 1976. This was because Lesotho, along with many other African countries, chose not to attend the 1976 Summer Olympics as a protest. Lesotho has never sent athletes to the Winter Olympic Games.

So far, no athlete from Lesotho has won an Olympic medal. The group in charge of sports for Lesotho, called the National Olympic Committee, was created in 1971. The International Olympic Committee officially recognized them in 1972.
