Luba Goy (born November 8, 1945) is a super talented Canadian actress and comedian. She is best known as one of the main stars of the popular TV show Royal Canadian Air Farce.

About Luba Goy's Life and Work
Luba Goy was born in Haltern, Germany. Her parents were from Ukraine. In 1951, her family moved to Canada. Luba grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.
She went to Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa. In 1969, she finished her studies at the National Theatre School of Canada. After that, she performed in plays in Stratford, Ontario.
In 1971, Luba joined a comedy group called "The Jest Society". This group later became the famous Royal Canadian Air Farce in 1973.
In the early 1980s, Luba Goy hosted a TV show about computers. It was called Bits and Bytes. She starred as herself alongside Billy Van. This show was made by TVOntario and shown on PBS in the United States.
Later, Luba used her voice for many animated characters. She was Lotsa Heart Elephant, Treat Heart Pig, and Gentle Heart Lamb. These characters were part of Nelvana's animated Care Bears shows.
As part of the Air Farce team, Luba Goy won many awards. These include 15 ACTRA awards and a Juno. She was also one of the first Canadians to join the International Humour Hall of Fame. In 1993, she and her Air Farce friends received special degrees from Brock University.
In 1996, Luba Goy won the Outstanding Achievement Award. This award was from Women in Film and Television. In 1998, Luba and her Air Farce teammates received a very high honor. It was the Governor General's Performing Arts Award. This is Canada's top award for people in the performing arts.
Luba has also given her voice to many other cartoon TV shows. Some of these include The Elephant Show, Babar, AlfTales, and Rupert.
Luba Goy is proud of her Ukrainian background. She sometimes performs comedy shows that feature her heritage. For example, in 1999, she was part of the Ukrainian pavilion at Folklorama. This is a cultural festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Luba speaks Ukrainian very well.
She also acted in a Ukrainian film called Vid'ma (Witch). In this movie, filmed in 1990 in Kyiv, she played an 18th-century innkeeper.
In 2011, Luba performed at the Toronto Ukrainian Festival. In May 2012, she started her own one-person show. It was called Luba, Simply Luba. She performed it at the Berkeley Street Theatre in Toronto.
