Amanda Leigh "Mandy" Moore (born April 10, 1984) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She became famous in 1999 with her first song, "Candy". This song reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. Her first album, So Real (1999), sold over a million copies.
Mandy Moore's song "I Wanna Be with You" (2000) was her first song to reach the top 40, peaking at number 24. She has released several other albums, including Mandy Moore (2001) and In Real Life (2022). She has sold ten million albums around the world.

Mandy Moore was born on April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her mother, Stacy, was a news reporter, and her father, Donald, was a pilot. When Mandy was two months old, her family moved to Longwood, Florida.
Moore found her love for singing and performing at the Park Maitland School. From 1998 to 1999, she attended Bishop Moore Catholic High School. Mandy's grandmother, Eileen Friedman, a professional ballerina, was one of her inspirations. Mandy asked her parents for acting and voice lessons, showing her strong interest in performing.

Becoming a Pop Star (1999-2000)
After signing with Epic Records, Mandy started working on her first album. She left high school to focus on her music and continued her education with tutors. In 1999, she toured with popular boy bands like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.

In 2019, Mandy Moore reached the Everest base camp with friends. She has also shared that she has immune thrombocytopenic purpura, an autoimmune disease that affects blood platelets.
In January 2025, Mandy's home in Altadena, California, was affected by the Eaton Fire. While her house was still standing, most of its contents were lost due to fire damage.
