Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award facts for kids
The Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award is a special yearly prize given in Canada. It celebrates the best picture book for children that has amazing illustrations. This award is supported by A. Charles Baillie and managed by the Canadian Children's Book Centre. The winner receives a prize of $20,000. The award is named after Marilyn Baillie, who writes children's books and used to teach young kids. She is married to A. Charles Baillie, who was once in charge of TD Bank.
This award is one of several important prizes given out by the Canadian Children's Book Centre each year. Other awards include the Norma Fleck Award for Canadian Children's Non-Fiction, the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People, and the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award.
