Meet the Characters and Segments
Marsupilami's Adventures
This part of the show follows the adventures of Marsupilami himself. He is voiced by Steve Mackall. Marsupilami often hangs out with his friends. These include Maurice the Gorilla, voiced by Jim Cummings. Another friend is Stewart the Elephant, voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
Sometimes, Marsupilami has to escape from Eduardo the Jaguar. Eduardo is voiced by Steve Landesberg. Other times, he has to outsmart a human named Norman. Norman is also voiced by Jim Cummings. Many other characters appear in different episodes. These include three baby monkeys and Norman's Aunt Bethie.
Sebastian the Crab's Stories
This segment features Sebastian the Crab. He is voiced by Samuel E. Wright. You might know Sebastian from the movie The Little Mermaid. These stories happen after the movie.
In these cartoons, Sebastian often finds himself in funny situations. He is usually out of the ocean. He sometimes tries to outsmart Chef Louie. Chef Louie is voiced by René Auberjonois. Even though these stories show them away from the sea, both Sebastian and Louie returned in the second movie.
Shnookums and Meat's Fun
Shnookums and Meat was another cartoon segment. It later became its own TV show! This part of the show is about a cat named Shnookums. He is voiced by Jason Marsden. There's also a dog named Meat, voiced by Frank Welker. They don't get along very well.
Their owners are never fully seen. They are just called Husband and Wife. Husband is voiced by Steve Mackall and Wife by Tress MacNeille. The owners often leave Shnookums and Meat in charge of their home.

How the Show Was Made
The Marsupilami series had 13 episodes. It ran for one season and ended on December 11, 1993. You might have seen reruns of the show. They aired on The Disney Channel from 1994 to 1995. Later, they were shown on Toon Disney from 1998 to 2009. They even appeared on Disney Junior from 2012 to 2015.
Each of the 13 episodes had a new Marsupilami cartoon. Then, there was a short story with either Sebastian the Crab or Shnookums and Meat. Finally, an older Marsupilami cartoon from Raw Toonage was shown.
It's interesting to know that the original Marsupilami comic books were a bit different. In the comics, Marsupilami couldn't speak. He could only copy sounds, like a parrot. Also, the comics said Marsupilami came from South America. But in the Disney show, he lives with a gorilla and an elephant. These animals are usually found in Africa.
