Michy Batshuayi-Atunga (born on October 2, 1993) is a professional football player from Belgium. He plays as a striker for the Turkish club Galatasaray. He also plays for the Belgium national team.
Michy started his professional career at Standard Liège in 2011. He scored many goals there. Later, he moved to Marseille in France. In 2016, he joined Chelsea in England. He scored the goal that helped Chelsea win the Premier League title in his first season.
After playing for Chelsea, he went on loan to several clubs. These included Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Valencia in Spain, and Crystal Palace and Beşiktaş in Turkey. In 2022, he joined Fenerbahçe.
Batshuayi also plays for his country, Belgium. He scored in his first game for Belgium in 2015. He was part of the team that finished third at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the 2022 World Cup and the UEFA European Championships in 2016 and 2020.

Club Career Highlights
Michy Batshuayi was born in Brussels, Belgium. His parents are from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Before joining Standard Liège, he played for several youth teams.
Starting at Standard Liège
Michy played his first senior game for Standard Liège in February 2011. He scored his first professional goal in December 2011 in a Europa League match. This goal helped his team move forward in the competition. He scored six goals in the league that season.
In the 2013–14 season, Batshuayi scored 21 goals. This made him the second-highest scorer in the league. He even scored his first hat-trick in one game. For his great performance, he won the Ebony Shoe Award. This award is for the best player of African origin in the Belgian league.
Moving to Marseille
In August 2014, Batshuayi joined the French club Marseille. He cost about £4.5 million. He played his first game for Marseille the very next day. He scored his first goal for the club in October.
He scored nine league goals in his first season, even though he didn't always start games. In his second season, he scored 17 league goals. He also helped Marseille reach the Coupe de France final in 2016.
Playing for Chelsea
In July 2016, Michy Batshuayi signed a five-year contract with the English club Chelsea. He was Chelsea's first signing under their new manager, Antonio Conte. He joined Chelsea for about £33 million.
He made his first game for Chelsea in August 2016. He helped set up a goal in a 2–1 win. Five days later, he scored his first Premier League goal. In May 2017, Batshuayi scored a very important goal. It was the winning goal against West Bromwich Albion. This goal helped Chelsea win the Premier League title!

In September 2017, he scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea. This happened in a 5–1 win in the EFL Cup. A week later, he scored the winning goal in a Champions League match against Atlético Madrid.
Loan Spells
Batshuayi went on loan to several clubs to get more playing time.
Borussia Dortmund
In January 2018, he joined German club Borussia Dortmund on loan. He scored two goals in his very first game for them. He was the first player to score multiple goals on his Bundesliga debut since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Valencia
In August 2018, he was loaned to Spanish club Valencia. He scored his first goal for Valencia in September. This made him the first player in the 21st century to score in the top leagues of France, Germany, England, and Spain.
Crystal Palace
In January 2019, Batshuayi joined Crystal Palace on loan. He played well and scored goals for them. He returned to Crystal Palace for a second loan spell in September 2020.
Beşiktaş
In August 2021, he went on loan to Turkish club Beşiktaş. He scored 14 goals in 33 games for them. He also helped Beşiktaş win the Turkish Super Cup in January 2022.
Joining Fenerbahçe
In September 2022, Batshuayi signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahçe, another big club in Istanbul. He scored his first hat-trick for Fenerbahçe in October. In June 2023, he scored two goals in the Turkish Cup final, helping his team win the trophy. He continued to score many goals for Fenerbahçe in the 2023–24 season.
Moving to Galatasaray
On July 1, 2024, Galatasaray announced that Batshuayi had joined their club. He signed a three-year contract. This made him one of the few players to play for all three of Turkey's biggest clubs.
International Career
Michy Batshuayi could have played for the DR Congo national team because of his parents. However, he chose to play for Belgium.
He played his first international game for Belgium in March 2015. It was a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match against Cyprus. He scored a goal just three minutes after coming onto the field.
He was part of the Belgium squad for UEFA Euro 2016. He scored a goal in the tournament against Hungary. In the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he scored a goal against Tunisia. Belgium finished in third place at this World Cup, which was a great achievement.
He also played in UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he scored Belgium's only goal in their first game against Canada.
