Mirinda is a popular brand of soft drink. It was first made in Spain in 1959. Since 1970, PepsiCo has sold it all over the world. The name "Mirinda" comes from the Esperanto language. It means "admirable" or "amazing."
Mirinda comes in many different fruit flavors. Some popular ones are orange, apple, and strawberry. It is a fizzy drink that tastes like fruit. In the early 1990s, Mirinda focused mostly on its orange flavor. Now, orange Mirinda is the most popular flavor worldwide.
The American company PepsiCo bought Mirinda in 1970. They mostly sell it outside the United States. Mirinda competes with other fruit-flavored sodas. These include Coca-Cola's Fanta and Dr Pepper Snapple Group's Crush. Mirinda's recipe can change depending on what people in different countries like.

Mirinda's History
Mirinda was first made in Spain. It came to the United States in late 2003. It was sold in special packaging that had two languages. Mirinda was sold at a lower price to compete with Coca-Cola's Fanta.
Since 2005, most Mirinda flavors in the US have been sold under a different name. They are called Tropicana Twister Soda. However, in Guam, Pepsi started selling it as Mirinda again in 2007.
PepsiCo also tried to sell Mirinda in Brazil in 1996. But it did not sell well and was stopped in 1998. The local drink called Sukita continued to be made there.
In Italy, Mirinda was sold as Slam until 2021. Then, its name was changed back to Mirinda. Mirinda has been sold in Russia since the early 1990s.
Fun Advertising Campaigns
Mirinda has had many interesting ad campaigns over the years. In the 1970s, there was a campaign called "Mirinda Woman."
From 1975 to 1978, Jim Henson created "Mirinda Craver" ads. These ads featured a monster called the Mirinda Craver. This monster loved Mirinda drinks and would do anything to get one!
Between 1994 and 1996, a campaign used the slogan "The Taste is in Mirinda." This campaign featured the Blue Man Group. In some countries, like Mexico, this campaign helped Mirinda focus only on its orange flavor. The Blue Man Group ads showed them trying to drink orange Mirinda. They would then shout "Mirindaaaa!" when they succeeded.
In Mexico, Mirinda also had a campaign with the Pokémon anime series. This promotion offered cool gadgets with Pokémon characters.
Mirinda often releases special drinks based on movies in Asia. Recently, they had flavors for Batman (blueberry) and Superman (fruit punch). Mirinda also launched new "Mirinda Creme" drinks. These come in mango, raspberry, and lime flavors.
Mirinda was sold for a short time in Australia during the 1990s. KFC in Australia started selling Mirinda Orange and Mirinda Lemon. Later, they switched to Sunkist and Solo. In recent years, Mirinda syrups have been available in some stores.
Mirinda is no longer sold in New Zealand. It was replaced by new Mountain Dew flavors. These include Code Red, Live Wire, and Pitch Black.
