Historic Treasures in Guadalupe County
Guadalupe County has many interesting spots that tell us about the past. Here are some of the special places listed on the National Register of Historic Places:
- Abandoned Route 66 - Cuervo to NM 156: This is a part of the famous old U.S. Route 66, often called "The Main Street of America." This section near Cuervo was added to the list in 1993. It reminds us of how people used to travel across the country.
- Anton Chico de Abajo Historic District: Located in Anton Chico, this area became a historic district in 1986. Historic districts are like neighborhoods where many buildings together tell a story about a community's past.
- Jesus M. Casaus House: You can find this historic house at 628 3rd Street in Santa Rosa. It was added to the list in 1982.
